This template is used on a large number of pages. In order to prevent unnecessary server load, edits should be kept to a minimum. Please experiment in your user page, and consider discussing your changes on the talk page before applying them. Editing a template causes all pages that use the template to be re-rendered. If the template is used often, this can put a lot of load on the server since it fills up the job queue.

Usage

This template places a banner noting that the article requires clarification and places the article in the category Articles needing clarification.

You can set the type parameter to change the text slightly based on whether the template is describing an entire article or only a section. If the type parameter is not set, it will default to "article".

For clarification needs confined to a single section, use the following:

It's possible to use other values for this parameter (e.g., tutorial) but try to use these sparingly.
