This template puts a bold red warning at the top of the page and adds it to Category:Articles flagged for deletion. It should be added as the very first line on pages that you believe should be deleted from the wiki. This includes pages that no longer serve a useful purpose, pages whose content may be inappropriate (but which you are not sure about), and any other deletion that is not obviously a candidate for speedy deletion.
|
This template should not be used on pages that are obvious candidates for speedy deletion (e.g. vandalism, test pages, etc.) and whose deletion would be uncontentious. Use {{speedy-delete}} for that.

[edit] Parameters
The parameter taken by the template is the reason the article has been flagged for deletion. If no reason is given, the default reason is "see the talk page for details". Deletion flags with no reason and no activity on the talk page will likely be removed, so editors are encouraged to make use of this parameter.
|
When filling out the reason parameter, you should sign it so people know who flagged the page for deletion. To do this, simply end the reason with - ~~~~.
|
So, for example, the following code:
{{delete|this article sucks! - ~~~~}}
produces this:
